111 Minna Gallery : A Unique Financial District Gem Where Art and Mixology Come Together Seamlessly

Situated in San Francisco’s Financial District, 111 Minna Gallery is hands-down one of the best post-work spots in the city. During daytime hours, the venue operates as Red Door Cafe, serving up coffee and pastries. From Tuesday through Thursday after work, it transitions into a dynamic art gallery and bar. The rotating exhibits and installations keep the space feeling fresh, offering an inspiring, artistic backdrop while you relax over a drink during happy hour. The mixologists here are among the most capable mixologists I've encountered in the city, which means I’m comfortable giving them creative freedom: tell them what you like and let them work. It is always a treat to see what they craft behind the bar. Bar manager Ralph deserves a special mention; he consistently delivers outstanding service and made me a top-notch Tiki drink upon request.

Having attended dozens of meetups and industry events here over the years, 111 Minna is a reliable go-to venue for corporate gatherings and special occasions. The gallery has earned numerous accolades, including a nod as a finalist for SF Gate’s Best of the Bay Award for Best Art Gallery. What keeps bringing me back is the combination of art and mixology. There is something uniquely relaxing about taking in an interesting installation while enjoying a thoughtfully crafted cocktail. Some nights when I am there, I enjoy taking in the moment experiencing creativity on both sides with the art on the wall on one side and the mixologists doing their thing on the other.
